The City is currently reviewing its dog controls in public places policy and is seeking your feedback. Have your say on dog control orders important to you.

Dog control orders are in place to protect people, other animals and the natural environment.

During the Domestic Animal Management Plan engagement last year, the community told us the following needs to be addressed in on and off leash areas:

  • signage
  • enforcement
  • education and promotion
  • seasonal rule changes
  • safe, shared spaces for all
  • protection of the environment.

We now want to hear from you about what works and doesn't work in on and off leash areas and exclusion zones in the public places you visit.

The following dog control orders are included in this engagement:

  • existing City-managed dog control orders
  • Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee's draft control orders.

Dog controls for the coastline from Collendina on the eastern boundary of Ocean Grove through to Thirteenth Beach, including parts of Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Black Rock are managed by the Barwon Coast Committee of Management and are not part of this engagement.

The community will be engaged at a later date about these control orders.

Complete the survey to tell us which dog controls are working and which need to be improved in public spaces important to you.
