Council is seeking public submissions in relation to the issue of onshore gas extraction including coal seam gas, tight gas, and shale gas hydraulic fracturing (fracking) within the municipality.
Recently community feedback has been received by Council expressing concerns about the potential environmental, health, agricultural and land access impacts of onshore gas extraction within the municipality.
The City of Greater Geelong is currently seeking public submissions to assist Council in developing a position in relation to these issues.
A report of the submissions will subsequently be presented to Council.
