Healthy Snack Catering Guide

The Healthy Snack Catering Guide has been developed by Healthy Together Geelong to assist workplaces, schools, early childhood services, associations and groups to make healthier choices when organising catering for meetings where only snacks are required.

This guide provides healthy and cost-effective options for meetings. All products displayed within this handbook are to be used as a guide only and there are many other options which will also meet the guidelines.

Geelong Healthy Catering Guide

The Geelong Healthy Catering Guide makes it easier for workplaces to choose healthy catering for their meetings and functions. This is an important opportunity to support healthy eating and improve health and wellbeing across the Geelong community.

Caterers had their menu items assessed and modified where necessary to provide a healthy choice menu, including all items from the 'green' and 'amber' category of the Healthy Choice guidelines.

Please note: two caterers in the Guide have now closed: Dish Catering and The Cocoa Tree Cafe. 

Local Food Loop

Use the Local Food Loop app to find, add and share your favourite local food growers, makers and sellers in the Geelong region. This App helps connect consumers and local producers in the Geelong region to support our growing local food community.

Community gardens

Community gardens are places where people come together to grow food. The benefits of involvement in community gardens include improved health and well-being, environmental sustainability, food security, social inclusion, education and training, economic development, cultural vitality and community resilience.

Geelong community kitchens

A Community Kitchen is a group of people who come together on a regular basis to cook, socialise and enjoy good food. Each group decides how their kitchen will run, how often they will meet and what food they will prepare. Community Kitchens can run anywhere there is an existing kitchen facility. This includes:

Schools - Neighbourhood houses - Community health services - Churches - Service clubs - Private businesses

You can find fruit and vegetables on sale at our regional markets.
