Road trauma memorial commission - Expression of interest

We are seeking to commission a suitably qualified and experienced artist or creative team to develop a public art memorial which will serve as a designated place for reflection and to acknowledge those in the Victorian community impacted by road trauma.

The public artwork will be a significant cultural asset in our public art collection and become a destination point of interest for local residents and visitors to the region. The budget for the commission is up to $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars) +GST.

Road crashes have a devastating and long lasting impact on people involved, their friends and families and the wider community including emergency service personnel and medical staff who assist with road rescue and recovery.

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC), in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong, Road Trauma Support Services Victoria (RTSSV), and the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, Uniting Church in Australia (UCAVT), support the need among the Geelong and the wider-Victorian community to provide a place for solace, reflection and acknowledgement of people who have lost their lives or been seriously injured on Victorian roads.
