Municipal Heritage Strategy

Council adopted the first Greater Geelong Municipal Heritage Strategy on 21 September 2017.

The Strategy provides a framework to guide Council on heritage matters within the organisation and the broader community. The vision states:

We will recognise, protect and share our heritage which contributes to the character and sense of place in our community.

Heritage is an important part of our identity and has made Geelong a great place to live for thousands of years.

Our present and future will be guided by the recognition, respect and celebration of our past.
