Swim Sport & Leisure communications

We are excited to inform our members and the Geelong community that we have a new communications system to deliver our Swim Sport & Leisure digital services.

Our digital services will now be provided by Swift Digital, an Australian organisation that follows the leading Australian security and data protection standards. We conducted extensive evaluation and research when selecting Swift Digital. The process included the completion of a Privacy Impact Assessment, in accordance with the recommendation of the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner.

This new system will improve how we manage your membership and communicate with you about member offers and centre updates, all in a safe and secure way. The system will also allow you to make bookings online and update your own contact information, making it easier for you to enjoy your Swim Sport & Leisure membership.

All Swim Sport & Leisure member data stored with Swift Digital will stay on shore, in Australia, and be handled in compliance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).

Data that is stored will be limited to current members’ data and only information that is required to maintain and manage your membership (such as name and email address), no medical, health or payment details will be transferred.

With the use of Swift Digital’s platform, we can enhance and improve our Swim Sport & Leisure services in a more user-friendly offering, in a safe and secure way.

We commenced use of this service as of 1 January 2021.

Will data be hosted securely?
Yes, all data will be hosted securely within Australia and will be handled in compliance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). 

Will my data be safe?
All data will be securely hosted by servers in Australia and will be handled in compliance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).

Can I opt not to have my details shared?
In order to manage and administer your membership, we need to store limited personal information in a database. Our provider hosts all data securely in Australia and will handle it in compliance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).

What personal information will be transferred?
We limit the transfer of personal data to only those details required to manage your membership, such as:

  • name
  • email address
  • mobile number
  • date of birth
  • centre details
  • membership type and details.

Please be assured that no medical, health or payment details will be transferred.

What if I don’t want to receive emails or updates from you?
You will easily be able to unsubscribe from communications by following the prompts at the bottom of any email you receive.
