The
City of Greater Geelong is inviting residents to attend a community forum to
learn more about the planning of roadworks in Armstrong Creek and the City’s
role in managing road closures.
The
forum will provide insight into the collaborative planning involved in
coordinating traffic impacts between the City, Major Road Projects Victoria
(MRPV), and the Department of Transport and Planning (DTP).
Attendees
will gain a behind-the-scenes look at the extensive work undertaken to minimise
disruption to the local community during construction.
The
forum will include a Q&A session, with community members encouraged to
submit questions in advance during registration to be addressed during the
session.
When: Tuesday 17 June 2025. Two time slots are available: 11am to 12 noon and 7pm to 8pm.
Where: Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library, 20 Main Street,
Armstrong Creek.
Mayor
Stretch Kontelj OAM
We
understand that roadworks can be frustrating, especially in fast-growing areas
like Armstrong Creek.
These
roadworks deliver essential upgrades to ensure our infrastructure keeps pace
with the needs of our growing community.
Charlemont
Ward councillor Emma Sinclair
We
want to update residents on the road closure process, why works are being
staged, how we are managing all works in the area and answer questions.
The
timing of works in Armstrong Creek is carefully coordinated with multiple
stakeholders, including Victorian Government agencies, utility providers, and
emergency services, while also aligning with funding timelines.
Roads
in the Greater Geelong region are managed by a combination of the Department of
Transport and Planning and the City of Greater Geelong.
