Townsend Road, St Albans Park - Blackspot Funding for road safety upgrades

City of Greater Geelong has received Black Spot funding from The Australian Government to deliver road safety upgrades along Townsend Rd, St Albans Park at five key locations.

The Black Spot program aims to enhance road safety and reduce the risk of serious injuries and fatalities. This initiative focuses on improving high-risk locations where accidents have occurred or are likely to occur.

Works are scheduled in for Mid-May 2025 start and will be completed by end of July 2025.

The road safety upgrades will be implemented at the following five locations:

Location 1: Existing school crossing close to Boundary Rd.

The school crossing will be upgraded to a raised pedestrian crossing. While the school crossing supervisor will continue to assist during school hours, pedestrians will now have the right of way outside these times as well.
