We’re upgrading Evans St from Roslyn Rd to Torquay Rd as part of the Federal
Government’s Roads to Recovery Program.
Roadworks likely to commence early September 2024.
What we are doing
We
are upgrading Evans St, Belmont as part of the
Federal Government commitment to improve our road network.
The
project is funded by the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Program and
will include
- Road pavement reconstruction
- Kerb and Channel upgrades
- Driveway upgrades
- Line marking upgrades
This
program supports local government through construction and maintenance of our
local road network which facilitates greater accessibility and improves safety
for our entire community.
Work times
The
works are being carried out by the City’s Construction Unit. During the road works,
the road will be closed for all vehicles including resident’s vehicles. Works
will commence from September 2024 and run to December 2024.
Residents and businesses who
may be impacted by the works will be notified of the start date closer to
commencement.
Works will occur Monday –
Friday, 7am until 4pm, weather and COVID-19 restrictions permitting. Weekend
work will only be required if weekdays are lost to inclement weather or
unforeseeable circumstances.
Traffic impacts
For the safety of drivers and
our staff, the road will be closed during the proposed timeframes as mentioned above.
Appropriate traffic detours will be put in place to help manage traffic flow.
Residents in these work zones will have pedestrian access to their properties
only. We will endeavour to minimise the disruption while the works are being
undertaken.
Emergency services
We have notified local
emergency service providers about the works. Traffic control staff will be on
site to allow access for emergency vehicles if required during working hours.
Rubbish collection
Rubbish
bins will be collected at either end of the work zone stage following regular
collection schedule. Please ensure bins are suitably located the night prior to
collection. Alternatively, Council crews will move bins into position for
collection on behalf of residents living inside the construction zone. Then
they’ll be return once emptied.
