Barrands Lane drainage upgrade - Drysdale

We will be undertaking drainage works to improve the stormwater system, reduce the risk of flooding and improve the existing trapped low point in Barrands Lane, Drysdale.

We will be undertaking the following work in Barrands Lane and Wyndham Street:

  • Installing new drainage pipes to convey stormwater to the existing pipe in Wyndham Street
  • Installing new collection pits and upgrading some existing side entry pits from singles to doubles

The tender process commenced in late 2023 and a contractor is expected to be appointed soon. Construction is still expected to be completed by 30 June 2024.


Disruptions are expected during the construction phase of the project:

  • In Barrands Lane, there may be part road closures and limited access to through traffic at different times. Access to properties will be maintained where possible for residents.
  • In Wyndham Street, there may be part road closures at different times. Access to through traffic will be maintained where possible however drivers may experience short waiting times. Access to properties will be maintained where possible for residents.
  • Traffic control will be necessary and drivers may experience short waiting times – residents may wish to consider alternate routes.

Emergency services and public transport operators needs will be addressed.
