Direct debit options

You can use direct debit to pay various accounts with us.

Rates payment by direct debit

You can elect to pay your rates notice by direct debit in:

  • one annual payment

  • four quarterly instalments

  • nine monthly instalments

  • 20 fortnightly instalments

There are two ways to set up payment for rates by direct debit.

 

1. Sign-up to direct debits online

You need to link your property with your email address inside myGeelong (our secure online portal) -  this way you can update and change direct debits in the future.

To set this up:

  1. register for rates online
    You'll need you last rates notice handy, and will be asked to create a myGeelong account if you don't have one already.

  2. once registered for rates online, log into myGeelong then:

    • go to your rates area

    • select your property you wish pay direct debits for (by clicking on the rates number)

    • hit the 'sign-up to direct debit' button -  you'll have to provide your bank details.

 

2. In person or by mail

Download and fill in our direct debit form, then lodge it at one of our Customer Contact Centres or post it to us.

Note: Paying direct debit by credit card is not an option. 

Debtor invoices

The direct debit payment option works in the following way:

  • For your January statement the amount of your account would be debited from your bank account on the last business day of February

This allows you 30 days to pay on your invoice/statement.

Aquatic Centre accounts/memberships

Our aquatics area conducts direct debits on both credit cards and cheque/savings accounts.
