We have commissioned artist Alex Knox to create a new and exciting public artwork for the brand-new Armstrong Creek Library.

The Earth has a hydrosphere, it consists of all the water that exists on our planet in various states of gas, liquid and ice. It is all the water in the oceans, the clouds, the soil and the cells of every plant and animal, including us.

The moment a droplet's form sculpturally imagines the nano second when a flying water droplet is disrupted. At this transformative moment we can simultaneously see both the perfect order of a hermetic droplet and the explosive, shape-shifting undoing of form as it reacts to the sudden change in the nature of its circumstances. This work speaks of transformation change via events that can seem chaotic but that are ubiquitous and essential in both the natural world and in our own human culture.
