Winter Solstice One Act Plays

For over seventeen years Theatre 3Triple2 have presented two original one act plays on the shortest day of the year.  This unique event provides an opportunity for new works from local writers to be showcased and celebrate the Winter Solstice.   

Audiences are treated to open fires, mulled wine and live musical entertainment, and are always delighted with what is on offer!  

Venture out into the winter evening, feel welcomed, warmed and be the first to experience these exciting new works. 

“The Retreat” written by Kim Greer. Set upon the backdrop of a weekend health retreat, The Retreat is a comedy with characters ranging from 20-70.   It explores relationships between mothers and daughters and sisters across the generations and looks at the differing attitudes to sex, relationships and dating between the age groups.  

The second work is “The Marvellous Marcel Melies” written by Nathan Fox.  Prince Ludwig of Schmallenberg is perhaps the most eligible bachelor in all of Germany.   The only problem is he smells, and to make matters worse he is completely unaware of his own stench.   To aid the Prince perfumer extraordinaire Marcel Melies creates a perfume that will mask his horrible odour. Along the way they will discover that true love has a way of being right under your nose.
