About Playgroups

Playgroups are for babies, toddlers, preschool children, and their parents, grandparents, or carers.

They are informal, low-cost, and meet regularly. Playgroups are a great way for you to meet other families in your community who have children aged between birth and five years.

There are several benefits to joining a playgroup. You can meet other parents and carers, and your child can play and interact with other children.

There are two types of playgroups in the Geelong region:

  • Supported Playgroups are free and are run by trained facilitators and usually run weekly during school terms.
  • Community Playgroups are usually run by volunteer parents and carers and run on varied schedules at different locations.
If you would be interested in learning more about starting your own playgroup register for our Community Playgroup Workshops, that are held throughout the year.
