Playgroups in Geelong

Playgroups are for babies, toddlers, preschool children and their parents, or carers. They are a great place for families of young children to meet together for play, socialising and support. There are both community led and facilitated playgroups across our region.

They are informal, low-cost and meet regularly.  There are several benefits for not only your child's development but also for parents and caregivers.

There are three types of playgroups in the Geelong region:

  • Supported Playgroups are free and are run by trained facilitators and usually run weekly during school terms.
  • Community Playgroups are usually run by volunteer parents and carers and run on varied schedules at different locations. (If you can't find any to meet your needs, then you could consider starting your own - see our Community Playgroup Workshops for more information)
  • Facilitated Playgroups and special interest groups which are usually run by organisations who organise a range of activities for your family.  These could be music or nature based programs.
