A friendly neighbourhood of about 400 houses, Drumcondra has superb access to the city's best sites and events. The suburb is bordered by Rippleside Park to the north, Corio Bay to the east (for the rising sun), and to the south, the city and Geelong's fine waterfront restaurants.

To the west, the highway to Melbourne borders the suburb. The Esplanade at Drumcondra is elevated and affords superb views across the bay.

Some of Geelong's most-prized and valuable real estate is located along here. More recently, younger families have moved into what was an established population.
