Local community park. Moorak Park is perfect for the kids to participate in some fun activities, including active play and social play on and around the playground equipment. The surrounding gardens with its mature trees and kept garden beds make it an aesthetically pleasing park to visit.
The Strawberry Tree – Moorak Park
The beloved 150-year-old Arbutus unedo (Strawberry Tree) in Moorak Park was damaged in the February storms and had to be removed as it was structurally unsafe in the landscape.
While there is growth on the stump, unfortunately this won’t be able to properly regrow and produce a healthy tree.
The shoots emerging from the stump are unable to create a structurally sound tree and will fail over time.

Update 7 May 2025
Three new Strawberry trees in Moorak Park
We appreciate the community’s love for the Strawberry Tree and have listened to your passion. That’s why over the next few days we’ll be replacing the stump with three new Strawberry Trees, so the community will be able to enjoy healthy, structurally sound trees for many years to come.
