Barwon Heads Nature Walk and Talk - Geelong Biodiversity Month

There are many reserves in Barwon Heads that support wonderful stands of Moonah woodland, an endangered vegetation community, and are managed by the City's Nature Reserves team.

Join us and Ecologist Mark Trengove as we walk these reserves and discover the magnificent diversity of plant and animal life they support. You will also find out what we are doing to protect Moonah woodland in Barwon Heads and what you can do to help.

Attendees will receive a copy of the City's Nature Neighbours guide which gives an overview of the many types of nature reserves we manage and what you can do to help them stay beautiful.

For those attending you should bring:

  • Weather appropriate clothing - i.e. jacket if raining, hat if sunny etc.
  • Sturdy footwear able to negotiate uneven terrain and pants for the long grass.
  • Sunscreen
  • Water.

Where to meet: In the grassed parking area adjacent the community garden off Geelong Road.

RSVP online now - closing date for reservations is 12:00pm on Friday 17 October 2019.
