New parking technology - why do I no longer need to display a ticket after 1 December, 2019?

The technology being implemented will remove the need for you to display a ticket in your vehicle.
The benefits provided by this new technology includes:

  • You are not required to return to your car to display a ticket or to extend your stay.
  • No worries about tickets being displayed correctly.
  • You can conduct remote parking transaction by using the app including paying to extend your stay.
  • If you move your vehicle, you can easily transfer any parking fee credit to another parking bay within the same zone.
  • Together we reduce the environmental impact caused by paper waste.

The changes also provide organisational benefits to the City by shifting existing manual operations to a digital environment that enables safe and efficient workplace practices and improved OH&S outcomes for City employees. The introduction of the new technology and system was included in the 2019-20 Budget.
