Central Geelong Park and Ride - Shuttle Bus Service

A Park and Ride shuttle bus service operates between Upper Hearne Parade in Eastern Park and central Geelong between Monday to Friday, except public holidays.

The Central Geelong Shuttle Park and Ride Service operates between 7:30am to 10:00am and from 4:00pm to 6:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays - including Geelong Cup day).

The last pick up at:

  • Upper Hearne Parade is approximately 9:50am
  • Moorabool Street stop is approximately 6:20pm, returning to Upper Hearne Parade at approximately 6:30pm.

Please note: these times maybe impacted by vehicle traffic, events and changed traffic conditions.

The shuttle buses are comfortable, modern and air-conditioned. The buses are managed by McHarry’s Buslines, taking all appropriate steps in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure practices maximise the safety of their employees and customers on board the buses.

All relevant advice from the Australian and Victorian government, and closely monitoring any changes. For further information visit the McHarrys website.

For convenience, use a parking space to park your car before using the Park and Ride Shuttle Bus to complete your journey. You’ll be helping to reduce traffic congestion on roads and the demand for parking in the city.

All day parking is available in the Upper Hearne Parade in Eastern Park and it's free. Having a Park & Ride permit does not guarantee a parking space as they are filled on a first come, first served basis. If the allocated Park & Ride area is full than park in a parking bay in the vicinity of the Geelong waterfront or Eastern Park.

Bus stops

Week day mornings the shuttle bus collects passengers from Upper Hearne Parade (at the Western end) in Eastern Park and stops at three stops - last pick up is at approximately 9:50am.

Look for the red Central Geelong Shuttle signs on posts at these locations:

  • Moorabool Street between Malop and Corio Streets on the east side of the street. Please note, the last pick up at this location in the afternoon is approximately 6:20pm (traffic dependent)
  • Yarra Street between Malop and Little Malop Streets on the east side of the street
  • Ryrie Street between Yarra and Bellerine Streets on the north side of the street.

For the afternoon service, passengers may board the bus from any of the morning drop off locations, at the stops listed above, and the bus will return passengers to the Upper Hearne Parade carpark. Please present your ticket (receipt) for a ride, both ways.

For those wishing to use the service one way, a single use multi ride ticket is available from our  Brougham Street Customer Service front desk.

For daily users, there is a monthly permit available.

Bus fees

For only $3 per person per day. A single ride ticket is $40 per 20 individual rides on the bus, providing flexibility should you choose to walk one way, or make a last minute decision. A ticket must be presented for travel in either direction.

Please show a ticket (receipt from parking meter machine) to the driver on boarding the bus for travel to, and from, central Geelong.

$50 per month - passengers can use this permit to ride the service as many times as they would like, per month.

Multi Trip Ticket

$40 - passengers can ride the service for 20 single trips.

This ticket is ideal for those who use the service occasionally or one way only.
