Community members who bought fence pickets as part of fundraising for
the Rippleside playground can register to receive them when the playground is replaced.
Opened in 2001 following a community fundraising and construction effort, the
playground’s boundary fence features wooden pickets carrying the name of the
person or family who purchased them.
The playground has now reached the end of its life and will be replaced by a new
inclusive playspace – set to be Geelong’s first ‘Livvi’s Place’.
The existing playground will be closed to the public this Thursday 19 September
2024, in preparation for being dismantled to make way for the new facility.
Those wishing to secure their pickets can do so by
registering by Thursday 17 October 2024.
As part of the construction, the existing public toilet in the reserve will also
close on Thursday 19 September.
The new Changing Places toilet facility is expected to open to the public in
early 2025, with the new playground to open around mid-year 2025.

Rippleside will become the ninth
Livvi’s Place in Victoria.
