Council to meet in Belmont Tuesday night

Monday, 9 July 2018

Residents from Kardinia Ward will receive an update about their area on Tuesday 10 July when Council meets at the Belmont Bowls Club.

The Community Focus Council Meeting is a chance for community members to meet councillors and have their say on important issues.

It will feature a summary of current projects and issues within Kardinia Ward from councillors Ron Nelson and Pat Murnane, along with 45 minutes of question and answer time with the community.

The night will begin with a meet and greet from 6.30pm where all councillors will be available to chat informally.

There is also a full agenda of Council business to be discussed, including:

- Planned upgrades for Herne Hill Reserve and West Oval
- Future social infrastructure needs for central Geelong
- Development of a new gender equity framework to guide the City’s community-based activities.

Community Focus Council Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at rotating venues around the region.

All members of the community are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Kardinia Ward includes the suburbs of Armstrong Creek, Belmont, Ceres, Grovedale, Highton, Mount Duneed and Waurn Ponds.
