Park will be temporarily closed to the public for approximately three weeks
while irrigation works are carried out in the south-west section of the park,
in front of the Geelong Regional Library and Heritage Centre.
the completion of the works the south-west corner, between Little Malop St and
Fenwick St, will reopen for public use.
north-west section of the park, between Fenwick St and Railway Tce, will be
closed until approximately mid-January 2018.
Access to the paved area next to the Geelong
Regional Library and Heritage Centre, and to the Geelong Peace Memorial will be
maintained for the duration of the works.
City is working closely with the Y Service Club of Geelong to facilitate a new
venue for the 2017 Carols by Candlelight event, held annually in Johnstone Park
on Christmas Eve.

maintenance works, which include upgrades to the surface material on pathways
and improved lighting, power and water, will complement an all-abilities-access
tiered raingarden currently under construction in the north-east section of the
park through the Revitalising Central Geelong Partnership.
Johnstone Park Raingarden is expected to be finished and accessible to the
public in December.

well-maintained and accessible green space in the heart of Central Geelong,
capable of hosting a wide range of events during the day and night.
