Geelong residents want to receive more information on the types of items that can go in their yellow-lid recycling bin, according to a recent survey.
We received almost 300 responses to our survey of people who subscribe to our monthly Rethink Your Rubbish online newsletter.
Of the respondents, majority were female (63%) and aged between 50 and 69 (59%).
The most common reason people subscribed to Rethink Your Rubbish was to get tips and hints about reducing household waste, followed by finding out information on the City’s waste services and facilities.
Around 95% of respondents reported reading the newsletter always or often, and more than 80% of respondents rated the relevance of the newsletter content as seven, or higher, out of 10.
When asked about suggestions for topics and information in future editions, a common response was for more specific information on the types of items that can go in the yellow lid recycling bin.
Respondents also asked for more information on recycling options for soft plastics, batteries, electrical items as well as bulky household items.
Congratulations to Yvette from Ocean Grove, Christina from Corio, Si from Hamlyn Heights, Zara from Waurn Ponds and Shona from Bell Park, who are the winners of $50 Coles Myer vouchers.
Thank you to all who participated in the ReThink Your Rubbish subscriber survey. This feedback helps in planning future editions.
