The City has joined with the Department of Justice and Regulation and Victoria Police in urging Bellarine residents to help prevent crime by locking their cars and keeping valuables hidden.
The City’s Administrator Peter Dorling launched the joint Help Yourself! Don’t Invite Crime campaign today in St Leonards with Minister for Police and Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville.
More than 50 per cent of thefts from cars there was no sign of forced entry.
The City is proud to be involved in the Help Yourself! Don’t Invite Crime campaign in collaboration with the Department of Justice and Regulation and Victoria Police,” he said.
I encourage all Greater Geelong car owners to help prevent crime by locking their vehicles and keeping valuables out of sight.
The campaign is being funded through the Department of Justice and Regulation Community Crime Prevention grants.
