Geelong Arena was privileged with the opportunity to host the Spirit of ANZAC Centenary Experience from 21 February to Monday 27 February 2017.
The Spirit of ANZAC is the largest free travelling exhibition ever featured by the Australian War Memorial featuring more then 200 genuine artefacts and historical stories.
The audio and visual equipment only added to the experience of walking back in time and becoming part of the same journey that the ANZAC’s were apart of between 1914-1918.
Approximately 1,700 people toured the Spirit of ANZAC Centenary Experience per day, with 82 per cent of visitors stating an emotional response was evoked during the tour.
The City and Geelong Arena
thanks all visitors for embracing the exhibition. The support of sponsors, the
Australian Government, Australian War Memorial, Royal Australian Navy, Royal
Australian Air Force, the Royal Australian Army, Telstra, Commonwealth Bank and
the volunteers for making the experience
a big success.
We also recognise the
support of Arena tenants and regular users who have been patient during the ten
day build and three day removal.
The Geelong Arena will
return to Basketball mode on Monday 6 March 2017 for domestic
competitions with next major event being the commencement of SEABL 2017 season
on 25 March 2017.
