The MY STORY Project is one of the City’s key events in celebration of International Day of People with Disability 2020. It is an opportunity for people with a lived experience of disability and mental health to find their own voice and ‘tell their own story in their own way’.

To ensure that the project was inclusive to all, stories have been told through words, paintings, digital imagery, photography, sound, music, movement and film. The project included 119 participants, aged between 15 and 82, seven mentors from a range of professions and creative disciplines, and four key regional stakeholders.

The result is an extraordinary collection of multi-media ‘stories’ from people who share their voice, vision and insight into living life with the experience of disability and mental health challenges.
