What can I do in myGeelong?

You can:

  • save time by submitting pre-filled service request forms and keep track of what you’ve submitted

  • customise content to your interests so you see information from your suburb, your newsletter subscriptions etc

  • manage your community directory listings, events and sporting clubs.



Creating a myGeelong account

You can register for a myGeelong account via the registration page.

You will need to provide:

  • an email address (this will be your username)

  • a password

  • security questions and answers



You know you are logged in if...

Your username (email address) is displayed on the top right hand side of the black navigation bar.

myGeelong on a mobile devices

You can use your myGeelong account on your mobile phone or tablet.

Eligibility to register with myGeelong

Any person over 18 years of age can register.

myGeelong accounts are not open to businesses or companies wishing to link rate accounts.

No verification email - what next?

If you have not received a verification email within 24 hours of registration, please re- register for a myGeelong account.

Please ensure you enter your email address correctly.

Some email networks take longer to process an email than others.


Features


Information tiles

Information is grouped in tiles in myGeelong.

You have access to a number of different tiles each containing their own unique links and information. For example:

  • service requests
  • newsletter subscriptions and
  • event calendar.


Tiles you should see...

You are automatically given access to a default set of tiles when you create your myGeelong account.

Updating your profile

When you're logged in to myGeelong, select profile from the drop down list next to your username in the black navigation bar at the top of the page.

From here you can edit any of your details.



Multiple myGeelong accounts

You might like to have separate accounts for your residence, business and community groups.

As long as each account is listed under a different username (email address), you can have separate accounts.



 

Security


Your personal information

A number of measures are taken to ensure your account and personal information is secure. These include:

  • data encryption

  • storing data at a secure facility

  • recording when your account is accessed.

You can make sure your account is secure by:

  • keeping your username, password and your secret questions and answers secure at all times

  • changing your password regularly and when prompted

  • using up-to-date firewall and anti-virus software to protect your computer.

Forgotten your password?

If you forget your password, you can reset it by going to the ‘Forgotton password’ page.

You will need to know the answer to your security question.

A temporary password will be emailed to you, it is valid for 24 hours. You will be required to change this once you login.


Security question and answer, and why you need one

You are required to select a security question and provide an answer when you register for myGeelong. This is used to increase protection over your personal information.

You will need to correctly answer a security question when requesting certain types of information and if you need to reset your password.

You can manage your security question and answer once you are logged in.



Username reminder

If you forget your username (which is the email you have used to register), you can complete our online form to request this information.

 

General


Checking for a myGeelong account

When you register for an account, we send you an email to confirm you have registered.

Try logging in using your email address - the system will tell you if it recognises your username. If it doesn't, then you don't have an account set up.

If you’ve forgotten your password, you can request a new one.

Or you can try registering for a new account if you are unsure whether you have registered for myGeelong in the past.
