Community Care workers

Community Care workers assist others to live independently in the community.

The Australian Government has passed a new Aged Care Act, which comes into effect from 1 July 2025.

Community Care workers support older community members, people with dementia, people with disabilities and their families with a range of services to remain independent.

Our staff will work with clients to support their goals, allowing clients to maintain an active and independent lifestyle.

Services can include:

  • home care
  • personal care
  • social support and
  • respite for carers.

Our Community Care workers need to have:

  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community) or a certificate III in a relevant field as mentioned below:
  • Aged
  • Ageing Support
  • Home and Community Care
  • Disability
  • Community Services
  • It would be desirable to have completed the 'HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication' module or equivalent however this not compulsory.

Our Community Care workers are also required to have:

  • a current police check
  • a drivers licence and access to an insured car to use for work
  • a Working with Children's Check (if providing care to children under the age of 18).
