Ingredients (for all options)
4 cups cold water
1 cup ice cubes (optional)
Cucumber, lemon and mint
1 cucumber thinly sliced
1 lemon thinly sliced
10 mint leaves torn
Blueberries, lemon and thyme
1/2 punnet of blueberries
1 lemon thinly sliced
5 thyme sprigs
Lime and fresh ginger
1 lime thinly sliced
Small piece of ginger peeled and thinly sliced
Orange and fennel
1 orange thinly sliced
1 fennel bulb and stalks coarsely chopped
Raspberry and basil
1/2 punnet of raspberries
4 sprigs of basil
Method
Place your favourite combination of fruits, vegetables and herbs in a large jug. Add ice and fill with water.
Tips
- Wash fruits and vegetables and rinse herbs to removes dirt and chemicals.
- Crush hardy roots and herbs like ginger, rosemary and lemongrass with a wooden spoon; tear or crush leafy herbs to release their flavour.
- For a warm option, steep half a lemon, a small piece of ginger and a dash of ground turmeric in one cup of boiling water.
