Hard waste - further collection information

Things you should know about the hard waste collection service.

Bookings

The hard waste collection service has been extended to at least 30 June 2021.

Bookings are available in weekly slots.


When to put out your collection

A reminder message will be sent to you before your booked waste collection week.

Please put your hard waste out by the Sunday night prior as collections can occur anytime between the scheduled Monday and Friday. If the hard waste is not put out this will count as one service for the financial year.

NOTE: If you are putting a mattress out for collection, please ensure it is free of other waste. The mattress will be collected separately - and potentially on a different day - to the rest of your pile.

 

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made no later than the Wednesday before the booked week.

If this isn’t done then the booking will count as one of your two services for the financial year.


What happens to the hard waste?

All recyclable material will be directed to recycling businesses. The hard waste that cannot be recycled will be sent to landfill.


Service fees

It is free to book two hard waste collections each financial year, with the program funded from the municipal waste charge.
