Watercolour - Art in the Gardens Spring Edition

Learn to paint en plein air using line and wash with Natalie Martin.

Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate

Join local watercolour artist Natalie Martin at the Geelong Botanic Gardens for a morning of relaxing painting and sketching outdoors. We will focus on a mixed media, line and wash technique and capture the seasonal beauty of the gardens. This class is all about loosening up and having some fun creating simple florals or landscapes in a expressive style. Natalie will guide you through a couple of warm up exercises before approaching a final piece for you to take home.

What to bring

All materials and equipment are provided, however if you have your own materials you’d like to learn how to use you’re more than welcome to bring your own.

Please note this is an outdoor event. Please bring a hat, sunscreen and water bottle. Wear comfy shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint on (unlikely, but it can happen!) A rain jacket might come in handy too if there’s a light shower in the forecast. If the weather looks like it’s not going to play along we can take shelter at the Visitors Centre or the Conservatory and continue the workshop.

Ticketing

Attendees will receive a reminder email with further information two weeks prior to the workshop, including where to meet on the day and what to expect.

To ensure participants get as much one on one time with Natalie, this workshop is limited to 12 participants.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments are provided. Please let Natalie know if you have any dietary requirements.
