Sustainable House Day 2020 is going virtual this month, so there’s no excuse for missing out on touring some of the nation’s greenest homes and hearing from their owners.
Sustainable House Day (SHD) provides an opportunity to inspect houses that have been designed, built or renovated with sustainability in mind.
Officially celebrated on Sunday 20 September 2020, visitors to this year’s SHD open homes will receive an advance viewing of the 150 properties from 13 September 2020. After watching a pre-recorded video tour from each homeowner, questions can be shared online with the homeowners.
You’ll need to register with SHD 2020 to view the homes, but the online format hasn’t affected your opportunity to interact with homeowners.
A range of virtual presentations and Q&A sessions with homeowners and sustainability experts is planned throughout the day. Presentations will be based on types of sustainable homes, materials and features.
As a follow-up, a series of post-Sustainable House Day webinars are also planned to delve deeper into topics that will help people transition to comfortable, energy-efficient housing that reduces our carbon footprint.
Save the date for Geelong Sustainability’s popular sustainable house day for Geelong and surrounding districts on the weekend of 10 & 11 October. Virtual tours, webinars and online Q&A sessions are planned.
