Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival

Welcome to Australia’s only non-fiction writing festival. Word for Word is a unique annual literary event showcasing non-fiction writing in all its many facets and forms with world-renowned writers, dynamic panel discussions and “in conversation” sessions.

Held in the iconic and multi-award winning Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, the Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival takes full advantage of this stunning state-of-the-art facility known locally as “The Dome”.

Memoir, biography, journalism, blogs, history, travel, song-writing or poetry – non-fiction writing may take any number of forms. While the format can vary, one factor remains consistent throughout, and that is truth.

This event is proudly supported by the City of Greater Geelong via - 2019-2020 Community Grants Program.
