Across the City in our gardens, parks
and reserves, waterways, foreshore areas and roadsides we are lucky to share
our environment with a diversity of native animals.
Occasionally we might encounter wildlife in a difficult situation or experience some conflict with wildlife behaviour. The information below is designed to help you navigate what to do during an encounter.
Please be mindful of our native animals. Take care on our roads, drive slowly and be careful of wildlife crossing. Observe signage installed across our reserves to help provide space for wildlife. During summer or long dry periods provide water in your garden.
Remember all native animals are protected under the Wildlife Act 1975 and are the responsibility of Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).
