Coordinator Healthy Communities

Permanent Full Time | Band 8

The Coordinator is responsible for the planning and delivery of best practice preventive health strategies. You will guide a community-level prevention effort through collective action to improve the health status of the population of the City of Greater Geelong. 

You will govern and lead preventative health decisions and investments, coordinate the team, establish and monitor the annual budget, coordinate communications, and write submissions and business cases to negotiate funding for the community.

You have a relevant degree and experience in public health, health promotion or community development, plus experience in managing the development of challenging and complex health projects. Your strength is your ability to lead team members and work with all levels of the organisation and community to meet a common goal. You have solid financial management skills and high level research and written communication skills.

Research and Support Officer

Permanent Full Time | Band 7

This newly created position will provide support to the General Manager Community Life through research solutions and direct engagement with Community Life Department Managers.

Responsibilities include researching and investigating current issues and trends, preparing high quality reports, briefings and policies, preparing internal and external communications, and advising on political matters.

You have extensive experience in research and policy development and high level knowledge of issues relating to governance, current affairs and the Greater Geelong region. You have advanced verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce community focused content.  You can plan and drive your own and others work to meet deadlines and budgets, and have the interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of professionals.

Subdivision Inspectors

Permanent Full Time | Band 5

We are seeking two experienced construction professionals to maintain and promote quality control of road, drainage and concrete construction.

You will work across private subdivisions and developments, inspecting works, monitoring techniques and liaising with contractors to ensure works are completed to Council standards, approved plans and specifications.

You have several years experience in road construction, drainage and concrete works with some inspection experience in the civil construction industry. You have an excellent understanding of OHS and worksite traffic management. You have good negotiation skills and the ability to deal professionally with difficult customers and situations.

Personal Assistant – Financial Services

Permanent Part Time | Band 5

This position coordinates the administration of our busy Financial Services Department and delivers professional support services to the Manager and wider team.

Responsibilities include ensuring all administrative activities and functions are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner, providing a full range of administrative support to the team, and fulfilling the role of personal assistant to the Manager.

You are an experienced personal assistant or administration professional, ideally with an accounting or finance background. Your background includes providing high level support to senior staff and teams, coordinating records management, and preparing reports. You have great organisational skills, excellent IT ability, and can work cooperatively and proactively with others.

This is part-time position working 4 days per week (7.5 hours per day).

This position provides administrative support to assist the Statutory Planning team in processing a wide range of planning permits and certificates. Duties also include preparing correspondence, maintaining information systems, and providing a high level of customer service.

You have a background in administration and customer service and your previous positions have been of an analytical or problem solving nature.  Experience in town planning or the development industry will be highly regarded.

Our Integrated Children’s Centres bring together a range of education, health and community services for children.  We are looking for a new team member to join our Leopold long day care team in providing a high quality education and care program.

You have a Certificate III in Children’s Services or equivalent, current Level 2 First Aid and anaphylaxis accreditations, and a current Working with Children check. Previous experience in a childcare centre will be highly regarded. 

This is a temporary full-time maternity leave replacement position for 12 months.
