Administration Officer

Permanent Full Time | Band 4

Working within a dedicated and professional administration team, you will perform a variety of administration functions to support programs and staff within our Family Services Department, which includes our Early Education and Care, School Holiday Program and Maternal and Child Health Teams.

You will maintain records, complete basic financial tasks, prepare correspondence, and attend to customer enquiries.

You have previous experience undertaking a broad range of administration support tasks, supported by advanced computer skills.  You are able to communicate professionally with a range of internal and external customers, including families and staff in other departments.  You can prioritise your own workload and are quick to offer assistance and support to your team members.

Team Leader Business and Industry Engagement

Permanent Full Time | Band 7

Enterprise Geelong is the City’s dedicated resource for economic development initiatives.  This position plays a key role in the establishment of strategic initiatives to attract and facilitate investment and support the local business community.

You will lead the Business Engagement Team in the coordination of projects, strategies, plans and materials to promote Geelong’s competitive advantages and industry strengths, identify opportunities to expand and diversify the local economy, and liaise with business, peak industry groups, government, and the community.

You are an engaging and collaborative leader with strong connections in business and industry and a proven track record of fostering productive stakeholder partnerships. You have substantial experience and a degree in one or more areas of economic development, business/industry development, small business engagement, or business planning. You have excellent project management skills and a solid understanding of economic development trends, issues and opportunities, and the role of Government in economic development.

Technology Support Officer

Permanent Full Time | Band 5

Our Information Technology team is the first point of contact for IT support queries and provides great advice and trouble shooting for all issues relating to technology, corporate applications, our desktop and Citrix environment, Skype 4 Business phone system, and printers. 

You will provide phone, email and face to face help desk support, install and support software, desktop hardware/equipment and mobility fleet, plus administer user accounts and active directory tasks.

You have a broad IT knowledge base, including computer architecture, Windows operating systems, email systems, Skype 4 Business, enterprise mobility, and corporate applications.  You also have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people who have varying levels of IT skills.

Revenue Officer

Permanent Full Time | Band 4

Our Revenue Team play a key role in maintaining the City’s financial systems, performing varied account issue, cash management and debtor management functions, plus providing accurate revenue data reporting.

You will process incoming revenue from a range of sources,  interact with customers and provide accurate and timely information. You will also make a meaningful contribution to developing the team into an efficient, effective and customer focused unit.

You have several years’ experience in high volume billing and receipting processes or financial environment, plus strong technical skills.  You have strong computer and problem solving skills, with an aptitude for figures and exposure to large volume reconciliations. You are a self-motivated, versatile, and customer focused individual, who enjoys working with others to identify ways to proactively improve how things are done.

Sales Officer

Permanent Part Time | Band 4

Situated in our Leisure & Recreation Services Department, this is a fast paced position that promotes our leisure memberships and swim school to current and prospective customers.

You will conduct centre tours and welcome new members, respond to membership enquiries, and work with the Customer Service Coordinator to ensure our sales processes meet business and customer needs.  You will also help source new members, complete administration tasks, and contribute to a strong sales culture at the centre.

You have previous direct sales experience, preferably in the Leisure & Recreation Services industry, and the confidence to approach and present our facilities and programs to both private and corporate clients. You have good administration,  customer service and communication skills. A current Working with Children Check is required prior to commencement.

This is part-time position working approximately 25 hours per week. You must be available to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Qualified Gardener

Permanent Full Time | Band 3

Our Gardeners enjoy a range of tasks and work each day in some of the City’s most beautiful landscapes. With a typical day including mowing, weeding and garden bed rejuvenation, plus liaising with community groups and documenting plant collections, this role presents a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and committed gardener.

You have a relevant trade qualification in horticulture and the ability to practically apply your knowledge of plant growing conditions and maintenance requirements. Your experience includes maintaining public gardens, working as part of a productive and cooperative team, and interacting courteously and professionally with community members. You have a great work ethic and pride yourself on providing the community with beautiful outdoor spaces.

The successful candidate will be appointed to the position title ‘Certificated Gardener’.
