Project Delivery Engineer

Permanent Full Time | Band 5/6

This is a great opportunity for a junior engineer or recent graduate to obtain exposure to a wide range of works and projects across the broad local government industry.

Working on a range of road, drainage and concrete construction projects, you will supervise contractors and internal work crews to ensure compliance with plans and quality/safety standards, monitor progress and costs of works, undertake engineering inspections, and support the Project Implementation team.

You have a tertiary qualification in civil engineering and good knowledge of relevant industry and OHS regulations and codes.  You are a confident communicator, with the capacity to deal with difficult stakeholders and negotiate to deliver the best outcome for Council.  You are a self-starter who is known for your high level of personal motivation and commitment to grow your skills and be your best.

Operations Leader – Parks and Gardens

Permanent Full Time | Band 6

The Operations Leader is a key leadership position within our Parks and Garden team, accountable for the coordination of all operational activities of the City’s parks maintenance activities within a defined geographical area. The Operations Leader will guide and empower employees to ensure the effective delivery of quality, professional and safe upkeep and renewal works in our open and outdoor spaces.

As a people leader, you will coach and mentor staff, drive cultural change, and ensure effective communication at all levels of your team.  You will identify and implement continuous improvement activities and proactively plan maintenance works to meet maximum service delivery levels, contractual requirements, and optimum customer satisfaction.

We are looking for a driven and energetic leader with high level understanding of horticultural maintenance requirements and proven success in leading high-functioning, productive and engaged teams. You understand and can champion change management and continuous improvement processes and thrive on looking for new ways to work.  You have outstanding commercial acumen with demonstrated skills in contract management, financial reporting, and business management.

Personal Assistant/Project Officer

This is a varied position that manages a small administration team in our City Development Department, provides high level support to the Manager, and oversees a range of projects to improve the operation of the department.

No two days are the same, and could include managing work schedules and service delivery, drafting customer responses, coaching staff, and planning work priorities for the Manager’s office. 

You are a successful people leader with the ability to guide staff through change and gain their participation in continuous improvement initiatives.  You have the flexibility and organisational skills to manage a good balance between the supervisory and support elements of the position, and have significant administrative, financial and personal assistance experience.

Property Leasing Officer

Permanent Full Time | Band 5

Located in our Lease Management Unit, this position implements and administers leasing arrangements and property management procedures, and provides a range of administration support to the team.

Key responsibilities include day-to-day property portfolio tasks, creating tenure documents, coordinating lease transfer processes, undertaking property inspections, and resolving stakeholder issues.

You have previous experience in a leasing environment, perhaps in a legal or commercial real estate context, and are known for your ability to understand and manage the needs and expectations of tenants and other stakeholders.  You have excellent time management skills, great attention to detail, and enjoy working in an autonomous role.
