Senior Recreation Development Planner

Permanent Full Time | Total Package $98,492 to $109,397

Our Planner is one of our principal advisors for recreation in the City and is responsible for the strategic management of a range of recreation facilities, services and programs.

This is a diverse and challenging role, accountable for policy development, community consultation, sourcing of funding, reporting, and achieving outcomes from municipal and regional plans.

You will have substantial experience in the recreation industry and a relevant tertiary qualification. You are known for your outstanding liaison and negotiating skills and have the ability to build constructive relationships with your stakeholders. Among your strengths is your knowledge of contemporary recreation and open space issues and trends, experience in policy development, and planning and research skills.

City of Greater Geelong is Victoria’s largest regional municipality. You will be joining a team that is considered an industry leader in sport, recreation and open space planning, asset and reserve management, and growth area development.

Waste Collection Team Leader

Permanent Full Time | $53,525 to $57,207, plus super

The Team Leader directs the work of a 2-person Waste Collection Truck to provide a professional public place litter and commercial waste collection service to the City. This position ensures schedules and community expectations are met and that the service runs safely and efficiently.

You have experience in waste collection and good knowledge of local geography. You have the ability to accurately record information and the flexibility to adapt your work schedule at short notice. Your interpersonal skills enable you to interact positively with the public and effectively direct the work of team members.  A MR truck licence is essential.

This position involves early morning shifts (4:30am – 1:30pm) and regular weekend and public holiday work.

Revenue Supervisor

Temporary Full Time | Total Package $91,802 to $101,966

Our Supervisor leads a team responsible for the billing, receipting and collection of all revenue transactions for the City.  This is a multi-faceted role with responsibilities for debt management, customer service, system analysis and reporting, and staff leadership.

You have substantial experience in billing, receipting and general ledger systems.  Your experience also includes utilising a variety of software tools to develop reports and analyse data.  You have a track record of recommending and implementing solutions, and of leading and developing teams to achieve their best.

You will work in a beautiful bay side location, surrounded by metropolitan quality shops, cafes and restaurants. You'll enjoy all the benefits of working with Victoria's largest regional municipality, including training opportunities, a monthly RDO, and performance based salary increases.

This is a temporary maternity leave position to February 2017.

Maintenance Officer - Parks

Permanent Full Time | $75,511, plus super

Our Maintenance Officer coordinates horticultural activities within a geographical area of the City to maintain and improve our beautiful parks and reserves.

You will plan activities to achieve maximum service delivery with a focus on safety, cost and quality.  You will manage our labour, contractors and fleet across a broad range of assets, including sports grounds, parks, golf courses and the City’s Botanic Gardens.

Reporting to the Manager Parks and Gardens and leading a team of supervisors, this position presents a rare opportunity to join our City Services team. You will be managing a range of horticultural assets with local and national significance, and working with a team who strive to deliver beauty and excellence for their community.

You have broad knowledge of the horticultural industry and substantial experience in parks and reserves maintenance activities. You have a track record of providing leadership to a large team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.  You have a thorough understanding of OHS regulations and codes of practice. You are an analytical thinker with excellent problem solving skills and sound judgement.
