Our risks and Hazards

Because of the size, mixture of urban, rural and growth as well as the City becoming a place of destination for events and visitors there are a number of risks and hazards


A Community Emergency Risk Assessment (CERA) has been undertaken by council in conjunction with the various emergency services.

Our risks have been identified as:

  • Earthquake
  • Landslip
  • Explosion
  • Severe Weather
  • Heatwave
  • Drought
  • Storm surge
  • Coastal inundation
  • Flood
  • Transport accident
  • Human Epidemic
  • Mass gatherings / events
  • Power outage
  • Recycling Centres
