Risks and hazards for Geelong

We have a number of risks and hazards.

Some include:

  • heatwaves
  • epidemics or pandemics
  • severe storms
  • riverine and flash flooding
  • hazardous material releases or spills
  • major road and rail transport accidents
  • structural fires
  • bushfires
  • actions of terrorism
  • external incidents that may impact – power failure, contamination of water supply.

Our Municipal Emergency Management Plan has a Community Emergency Risk Assessment (CERA) in Part 3 of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan.
