Council general elections are held every four years.
The Victorian Electoral Commission has declared the results of the Greater Geelong City Council Election 2024.  Results can be found here. 

Elections are run to ensure that Councillors are democratically elected by the community.

Ward Structure

There are 11 single-councillor Wards:

Barrabool Hills Ward, Charlemont Ward, Cheetham Ward, Connewarre Ward, Corio Ward, Deakin Ward, Hamlyn Heights Ward, Kardinia Ward, Leopold Ward, Murradoc Ward, and You Yangs Ward.

The Geelong Council election was held via postal voting.
