The City of Greater Geelong is launching its new nutrition toolkit with a free webinar presented by Mel Bald, also known as, The Passionate Nutritionist.

Taking place on Monday 11 October 2021, during National Nutrition Week, the webinar will give residents the tools to make healthy habits stick and become sustainable.

As part of the online event, participants will receive a hard copy of the City’s Eat Well, Live Well toolkit, a free resource with meal plans, recipes, and factsheets to develop healthy and sustainable eating patterns, habits and skills.

‘Increasing healthy eating’ among Greater Geelong residents is one of five health and wellbeing priorities identified in Council’s Our Community Plan 2021-25.

Deputy Mayor Trent Sullivan encouraged residents to sign up to the free webinar.

Maintaining healthy eating habits can be a challenging thing to do regardless of your age, gender or experiences and can easily get lost with everything else happening in the world right now.

With Mel’s knowledge of nutrition, she will provide some practical tips and tricks to community members on how to eat well and live well.

Along with the Eat Well, Live Well toolkit from the City, these are some incredible free resources to support healthy eating for residents of every age and stage in our community.

Mel Bald is a Geelong-based nutritionist with a background in clinical nutrition, corporate health, sports management and health coaching.

She has two teenage boys so also understands the trials and tribulations of preparing food for multiple family members, with varying taste preferences.

Ms Bald looked forward to presenting in the webinar and sharing her passion for nutrition.

Often people know what they need to do to eat healthier, it’s how to do it and stay on track which is the tricky part.

Good nutrition starts with better habits. In this webinar you’ll learn how to form new habits and change negative habits, which will result in making healthy eating easier.

The knowledge you learn will help you work on your individual goals, whatever they may be.

National Nutrition Week runs from Sunday 10 to Saturday 16 October 2021 and brings awareness to the role food plays in our health and wellbeing.

The City’s Eat Well, Live Well nutrition toolkit is a free resource for the community supported by funding from the Victorian Government.

Residents will be able to access the toolkit online from Monday 11 October 2021 via the City's website. Hard copies will also be available on request.

The Eat Well, Live Well Nutrition Habits webinar will take place at 11.00am on Monday 11 October 2021 via Zoom.
