I am a retired primary school teacher who majored in Art in College and has taught Art in several schools.
I have always drawn, especially portraits . Since retiring in 2011 I have been able to return to my great love of painting in oils. My style is stylised realism and my inspiration comes from nature with my favourite subjects being people, birds, dramatic landscapes and sunsets.
I am a member of the Geelong Art Society and take part in life drawing, portrait group, plein air group and print making classes. I enjoy creating animal and people portraits using pastels, charcoal and graphite as well as oils. I am happy to take commissions .
Every year I am part of a group of 4 artists who run an art exhibition in Belmont to raise money for cancer research. In 2014 I helped organise an art show called Against the Tide which raised money for Diversitat resettlement program.
\nI have exhibited and sold paintings at Lorne and Apollo Bay Art shows as well as shows at Shearers Arms Gallery and Art Is.
It is my aim to share the beauty and awe that I see in Nature's work with others.I strive to improve my technique each time I create an artwork without losing my unique style.
