I am a glass artist who works with hot glass and beads to create jewellery and sculptures. I use traditional and contemporary needle and thread techniques to weave tiny glass beads (seed beads) into beaded 'fabric' and shapes which I then make into jewelry and other items. I have a growing list of awards for my beadweaving and teach beadweaving in my home studio in Drysdale.
I create glass beads and small sculptures by using a gas fueled torch to melt glass rods and form beads and small sculptures. The glass objects are shaped with simple tools and hand movements. They are then kiln annealed (cooled) for durability.
I also design beadart patterns and offer classes for beginning to advanced beaders who want to create their own beadart.
I publish about beadwork and beyond in beading magazines and on my blog. I sell my bead art online, at my studio and at selected outlets (for example: The Vitality Cafe, 229 Roslyn Road, Highton, Geelong, Victoria, Australia).
My home on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria (Australia) is on the traditional lands of the Wathaurong peoples. I respectfully acknowledge that the Aboriginal people of Australia are our first nation peoples and the traditional owners and custodians that watch over the lands and waters in which I create and play.
