GSODA Youth Theatre Company

GSODA Inc is a community based, youth theatre company, which is one of Australia’s longest operating youth theatre companies, entertaining Geelong residents for over 50 years.

It is comprised of three main sections:

  1. GSODA Workshop
    Delivers basic theatre skills for children aged 10-13, culminating in an end of year show to provide first hand experience of the commitment and work required to put together a musical theatre production. After successful completion of a Workshop year children can audition for a place in the Junior Players.
  2. GSODA Junior Players
    Provides teens up to the age of 17 with 2-3 weekly rehearsals to learn theatre craft including vocal training, dance, staging, character development, costuming, stage makeup, set construction, lighting and sound. This group performs two musical theatre productions per year to the wider Geelong community and local schools.
  3. GSODA Theatre Collective
    Provides a platform for young adults in the Geelong region to participate in an annual small-scale production, with direct involvement in the creative process and production. The young adults are involved masterclasses throughout the year with industry professionals.
