Australian Multicultural Community Services

The Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) is a community organisation with more than 30 years experience serving the multicultural community.

We support seniors to live at home for as long as possible, helping them maintain their independence and connect to opportunities.

Our culturally appropriate services are:

  • delivered by skilled, knowledgeable and caring staff
  • mostly free or low-cost
  • available in Victoria, with Home Care Packages also available in other states starting from February 2017 

Australian Multicultural Community Services runs in Geelong range of aged care programs:  

  • Home Care Packages (HCP) for multicultural older persons
  • Planned Activity Groups for the Polish, Filipino, and multicultural clients
  • Multicultural Community Visitors Scheme – volunteers visiting in nursing homes
  • Multicultural Community Visitors Scheme Expansion – volunteers visiting clients of Home Care Packages
  • Project: building resilience and capacity of migrant and refugee women in Geelong
  • Community transport
  • Information provision and client referrals

Additional information: Our community has some of the most interesting characters! From surviving the Second World War, to coming over by boat to setting up the iconic Ford Factory, our ageing community is looking for new friends to come and share a cuppa and have a chat. Australian Multicultural Community Services is currently recruiting volunteers.
