Waterwatch is a national community water monitoring program focussed on environmental education and awareness. It brings together schools, community, Landcare groups, landowners, councils, water managers and individuals to test the quality of their local stream or waterway so action can be taken to maintain or improve the water quality.
Corangamite Waterwatch provides free training, support and equipment for individuals, groups and schools interested in monitoring water quality in our region's rivers, streams and wetlands. More than 50 community groups are involved at more than 150 sites across the region.
The program is hosted by the Corangamite Catchment Management Authority and sponsored by Barwon Water and Central Highlands Water and supported by Victorian Government funding.
