Special Olympics Australia, Victoria Barwon

Special Olympics Barwon is a volunteer organisation providing weekly sports training and competition for children, young people and adults with intellectual disabilities. 

Sports include:

  • Aquatics
  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Gymnastics
  • Tennis and
  • Ten-Pin Bowling.

Athletes can take part in the Special Olympics statewide, nationally and internationally.

  • Inter Club Games and State Games are held each year.
  • National Games are held every 4 years with World Games following this.
  • Junior National Games for athletes aged 8-16 are held every four years.
  • Trans-Tasman Games are held every 4 years (for athletes who have not represented their State or Country previously).
