Community Visitors Scheme

Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a Commonwealth funded program that connects a local volunteer with an elderly community member with similar interests. Together they will build a friendship and stay connected to their community.

A volunteer visit in homes or Aged Care Facilities at least once a fortnight for a one-on-one social catch up.

Referral: Any care recipient whose quality of life could be improved by the companionship of a regular community visitor can be referred to the CVS by their aged care provider or case manager; a family member; friend;or self-identify that they would benefit.
Eligibility: The CVS is available to recipients of Australian Government subsidised residential aged care services or Home Care Packages who have been identified by their aged care provider as at risk of isolation or loneliness. CVS visits are not available to recipients of Home and Community Care (HACC) services.
