Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens

The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens were founded in 1985 as a not-for-profit community organisation to support the Geelong Botanic Gardens. The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens support and celebrate the Geelong Botanic Gardens as a place for plants and people, discovery and learning, ideas and innovation, engagement and pride, conservation, environment and quiet contemplation.

The Friends programs include a wide range of activities for members, volunteers, schools and the public including:

  • plant nursery and plant sales
  • guided walks through Geelong Botanic Gardens
  • Botanic art classes
  • topical tours and talks
  • Library quarterly newsletter 'Jubaea'
  • hands on in the gardens for volunteers - perennial border and roses
