Raise the Bar Vocal Group

Raise the Bar is a vibrant component of the Geelong Youth Choir and is open to all adults who enjoy singing.

It was formed in 2005 when parents of GYC choristers decided it wasn’t fair that the children were having all the fun!

The group has evolved a lot over the years, but continues to offer a relaxed and supportive environment where singers can explore a variety of musical styles.

Raise the Bar is open to all ages of men and women who have a young-at-heart spirit and enjoy a challenge.

No prior experience is necessary, however, the group works at a reasonably fast pace on pieces of varying difficulty levels, so an ability to either read music or pick things up quickly by ear is very helpful.

If you’re interested in joining this group, come along and try it out for a couple of rehearsal sessions. Once you decide that you’d like to join, there is a very informal audition. So give it a go and discover how much fun singing in a group can be!

Heavily discounted rates for tertiary students.
