Register your interest – The Clothesline Project 2021

Whilst in 2021 we cannot plan to gather and march, we remain committed to reducing violence against women and children and making our city safer for everyone regardless of gender, identity, age, ability, faith or appearance.

This year to acknowledge Reclaim the Night and the 16 Days of Global Activism Against Gender Based Violence, we invite you to take part in the Clothesline Project 2021. The project will involve you making or using clothing, tea towels, scarves or other items, to tell your stories or make statements about:

  • stopping violence against women
  • women’s rights are human rights
  • Reclaim the Night – safe streets and homes
  • ending sexual assault
  • messages that support ending violence in all forms

When safe to do so, participants will be invited to display their artwork in a public installation - a clothesline display - later this year or early 2022.

Register your interest in being part of this social action display and to find out further information. When safe to do so, you will be invited to bring along your creations to hang on the clothesline.  We will keep you informed.

This project is supported in partnership with Barwon Community Legal Service, Reclaim the Night Geelong, Diversitat, Women with Disabilities Victoria, Geelong, and the Geelong Women’s Union Network
