Lt Malop Street Trees – expressions of interest sought to help decorate our City!

Christmas trees in Little Malop Street

In 2013, The City of Greater Geelong launched a very popular program for Christmas where 28 local primary schools decorated a forest of ply wood Christmas trees that were on display in Little Malop Street.

Due to the popularity of this program, it has been continued with even more schools participating each year.

How it will work?

  • We will deliver two plywood panels (in the shape of a tree) to your school, primed and ready to paint/decorate.

  • Your students will then be able to paint/decorate the tree.

  • The trees will appear in Little Malop Street from 13 November until Christmas.

  • Each tree will be signed with the school name.

Get your students involved

You can encourage as many students to be involved as you like!

The panels are approximately two metres tall, so please provide lots of space for students to get involved and make their creative contribution.

Decoration materials

As the trees will be outdoors for a period of around five weeks, materials chosen will need to be weatherproof and vandal proof.

Note: You must not use PVC glue or water based paint as it doesn't hold up well when exposed to the elements outdoors in Little Malop Street.

Register your expression of interest here!

We have 48 school trees available for the 2017 program. We will decide on participation in order of response, so be sure to send your request for involvement early!

Expressions of interest close 15 September 2017.
